As a roofing materials engineer, I compared ASA resin roofing tiles and color-coated steel roofing tiles. After three years of exposure to direct sunlight, ASA resin tiles show no discoloration; they are resistant to cracking when tapped, and their toughness surpasses that of color-coated steel tiles. Furthermore, they exhibit excellent weather resistance in the humid, rainy, and UV-intense climate of southern China, far outperforming ordinary PVC tiles, which turn yellow and become brittle after just two years. ASA resin tiles also offer the advantage of being lightweight.
ASA resin roofing tiles offer excellent weather resistance and high installation efficiency. They are suitable for industrial and commercial buildings, sunshades, and similar structures, helping to minimize hassle. Their UV resistance surpasses that of PVC, and their actual service life can reach over ten years—approaching the manufacturer’s stated warranty period of 15 to 20 years. However, it is important to select the appropriate thickness and avoid choosing products solely based on price. The evolution of roofing materials has progressed from color-coated steel to PVC and now to ASA. ASA, in terms of cost...
