Many people think that resin roofing tiles are simply ”plastic molded into shape,” but in fact, a single high-quality resin roofing tile goes through more than a dozen precision manufacturing processes. Learn moreResin Tile ManufacturersOnly by understanding the entire production process can you truly appreciate the technical expertise behind a product’s price.
Step 1: Ingredient Proportions and Mixing. Polyvinyl chloride resin, calcium carbonate, stabilizers, UV absorbers, and other materials are fed into a high-speed mixer in predetermined proportions. The mixing temperature and duration directly affect the subsequent extrusion results. Gaoyi uses a computer-controlled temperature system to ensure that each batch of raw materials is mixed uniformly.
Step 2: Extrusion molding. The material enters the extruder from the storage tank, where it is advanced by the rotating screw and heated until it becomes plasticized; once in a molten state, it is extruded through the die. Gaoyi was the first to introduce twin-screw extrusion technology, which controls the thickness tolerance of the roof tiles to within 0.1 millimeters.
Step 3: Setting and cooling. The extruded profiles enter the shaping die, where their cross-sectional shape is stabilized through vacuum suction and a cooling water circulation system. The cooling rate and the stability of the vacuum level determine the geometric accuracy of the tiles.
Step 4: Traction and Cutting. The haul-off machine pulls the profiles forward at a constant speed, which must be precisely matched to the extrusion speed; otherwise, the profiles will be stretched and deformed. The automatic cutter then cuts the profiles to the set length, and the precision of the blade directly affects the quality of the lap joint.
Step 5: Quality Inspection. For dimensional inspection, a caliper is used to measure length, width, thickness, and wave spacing. For visual inspection, the product is examined under adequate lighting for bubbles and cracks. Physical properties are assessed through sampling tests for impact strength, weather resistance, and fire resistance rating. Gaoyi implements a batch inspection system for every batch of finished products before shipment, conducting random sampling tests and maintaining traceable records.
Every step in the process of making a roof tile—from raw materials to the finished product—requires technical expertise. That is why professionalResin Tile ManufacturersOur products can last two or three decades, while tiles made from recycled materials fade and crack within two or three years—the difference isn’t in the final step, but in every step along the way.
