Before the advent of PVC and resin roofing tiles, color-coated steel roofing was the standard choice for the renovation and construction of typical industrial workshops. To improve insulation, some installations added composite insulation materials beneath the color-coated steel roofing, while others simply installed a single layer of color-coated steel roofing directly over the steel structure. Although color-coated steel sheets are relatively inexpensive, their service life is very short. Within three to five years, the surface rusts and develops holes, leading to leaks and light penetration, necessitating a complete replacement. The resulting business downtime and repairs cause significant financial losses.

With the advent of PVC roofing tiles and synthetic resin roofing tiles—a new type of roofing material—this problem has been directly addressed. For a 20,000-square-meter factory building, the roof renovation saved over 200,000 yuan compared to using color-coated steel roofing sheets. For example, during the renovation of Mr. Xie’s workshop in Sichuan Province, Guangdong Gaoyi’s trapezoidal PVC roofing tiles were selected. This material is corrosion-resistant and acid- and alkali-resistant, with a service life of 15 to 25 years, eliminating any future concerns about leaks in the workshop.
