(1) Sources and Uses of FRP
FRP is an acronym for Fiber Reinforced Plastic, which can also be referred to as Fiber Reinforced Plastic in English.


Chinese name: fiber reinforced plastic or glass fiber reinforced plastic, commonly known as: glass fiber reinforced plastic. FRP light board is our usual name, the national standard name: glass fiber reinforced polyester corrugated sheet.
FRP is quite versatile and is used in the manufacture of speedboats, ships, bridges, roof lighting materials, tables and chairs.
(2) FRP main raw materials: (33%) non-alkali short-cut mat (glass fiber) + (63-65%) transparent unsaturated polyester resin composition, in addition to: surface weathering film + curing agent + accelerator + flame retardant + pigment + other additives.
If there are more glass fibers and less resin, there will be fiber leakage (surface or side leakage phenomenon); if there are fewer fibers and more resin, there will be rattling sound when folding.
FRP light panels in the resin is thermosetting unsaturated polyester resin, which is characterized by heating molding curing, for irreversible, can not be reused.
Classification of alkali-free short-cut mats (glass fibers):
A. By alkali content in fiber
1, non-alkali fiber; 2, medium alkali fiber; 3, high alkali fiber.
The alkali in the fiber accelerates the aging process of the unsaturated resin, so good quality FRP products are made of alkali-free fiber. Its price also increases with the decrease of alkali content, and the market price of the three can be expressed as follows:
Alkali-free fiber price (yuan/ton) = medium alkali fiber +3000~4000 = high alkali fiber +5000~6000.
B. Morphology of the fiber itself

1) Light Transmission
The light transmittance is 60-85%, while the light is scattered through the FRP lighting panel, the light is soft, and will not form a light band, making the room brighter.
(2) Weather resistance
The surface of the product is covered with 23UM DuPont anti-aging film, which greatly improves the aging resistance of the product.
(3) Impact resistance
As the product structure contains crisscrossed glass fiber reinforcing materials, thus greatly improving the impact resistance of the product, in the impact of gravel and hail, not easy to rupture.
(4) Corrosion resistance
It is resistant to corrosion by various acids, alkalis and other chemicals, especially suitable for use in coastal and corrosive places.
(5) Temperature resistance
This product is a thermosetting polymer material, the use of temperature range -40 ℃ - +120 ℃.
(6) Thermal stability
The coefficient of thermal expansion of the product is about 2.2×10-5mm/mm.℃, which is only 2 times of the metal material, so it is not easy to deform and other phenomena because of its relatively small displacement as a lighting board and metal color plate supporting the use.
